Coach Zupke was a two year starter at Servite Catholic High School in Orange County, CA. He was a team captain his senior year. After high school Coach Zupke played four years at California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, CA. There, he started two years at defensive tackle and one year at center. He was team captain his senior year. He was also voted most inspirational player. Coach Zupke began his high school coaching career in 1992 at Marcos de Niza High School in Tempe and was named their Defensive Coordinator a few years later. In 1996, Coach Zupke became the defensive coordinator at Chaparral High School in Scottsdale. At Chaparral, he was part of five region titles and three state titles between 1996-2002. Coach Zupke came to Pinnacle High School in 2003. In 2017, he surpassed 100 wins.
